CPR and the story....

A Message From Rick:

Anyone who regularly reads my posts will remember that last year at Hockey AllStars, one of the players, Craig Poynter, had a full cardiac arrest on the ice during a game. Fortunately, with early, effective CPR and defibrillation we were able to save that player and after the insertion of 3 stents in the cardiac unit at Cardiff Hospital he went home to his wife and 2 kids and will be playing this year!

This year at AllStars we’ll be spreading the word of the importance of learning CPR and how to use a public defibrillator. It’s a simple life skill (literally) that anyone can learn and it can make a huge difference. The chances of survival for an out of hospital cardiac arrest DOUBLE with effective by-stander CPR and defibrillation. We’ll be running training sessions throughout the weekend (2nd/3rd/4th August) so stay tuned and look out for how you can get involved.

Please watch this incredible interview with Rick by Craig Simpson on AllStars TV for more on what happened and Rick’s involvement with All Stars over the years.
