Allstars support You Can Play Project
The UK Charity Allstars are proud to announce that #Cardiff17 sees the launch of our support for the You Can Play Project.
You Can Play is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
These are values that the Allstars fully support and passionately champion. The work performed by the staff and supporters of the Project has seen incredible advances in equality in Sport, with organisations and pro teams from every level showing their support through videos, events and themed days.
#Cardiff 17 will show the support of the Allstars in some very specific, and prominent ways. Firstly you'll likely see some pride tape on several stick blades over the weekend. Quite possibly some pride laces on skates, also.
Secondly, our Friday night Pro Allstars jerseys all proudly sport a You Can Play logo patch on the right breast, meaning every lucky bidder who walks away with a game-worn jersey of a player in the auction can continue the support long after the final buzzer.
Out tenth anniversary jerseys which like the Pro ones will be launched this week will also sport a YCP patch on the right breast.
Lastly, we will be shooting a video in support of the Project over the weekend that will be featured on the website and youtube channel of You Can Play.

One of our core principles at the Allstars is that any hockey ability can take part in our weekend, something we work hard to make happen. We feel the same way about the inclusion of anyone who wants to play regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
I've been lucky enough to work with the great folk at YCP before and it just seems like a perfect match for the Allstars to get behind them.
We believe that anyone who is, or wants to be an Allstar, can be an Allstar, and we are delighted to see #Cardiff17 formalise our support of this outstanding organisation.'
