The UK Charity Allstars are pleased to announce the registration information for the #Cardiff19 campaign.
Registration for the 2019 Allstars tournament in Cardiff's Ice Arena Wales will open earlier than ever before, on September 1st. Registration will remain open until the 30th of September, and the registration fee of £60 will be due by 14th October.
This is the first move made by the organisers to give added time to all our processes, and our Allstars will see the changes made throughout the ensuing year.
The organising Committee will, in consultation with our Captains and taking into consideration the preferred Charities of this who have applied, construct the teams and announce them on 1st November.
This is two months earlier than usual and will give time for the Captains and their teams to get to know each other, and plan their fundraising for the campaign. While additional events are welcomed, we will still 'launch' the online justgiving donations pages on 1st January, so that all our friends and families are not subjected to more requests than usual but our 136 playing Allstars, along with all our off-ice fundraisers, will have plenty of time to organise and mobilise.
Registration applications will be made via a google document as in 2018, the link for which will be published on 1st September for launch.
The expected level of fundraising for all our Allstars remains at £200, and help, advice and resources will be made available to assist the efforts of our participants.
jersey designs will be unveiled earlier than ever, in 2018, to give Captains and players as much time as possible to obtain jersey sponsorship and support. The event poster will be issued at time of team announcement for similar reasons, and we will soon be announcing an addition to the Committee that will bring exceptional sales and commercial experience to bear.
FAQ documents will be issued to assist Captains and players alike, outlining the spirit of the Allstars tournament, the responsibilities of those taking part and a reminder that, first and last, we are all working to raise money for wonderful causes and also play in a tournament. The competition is secondary to the sense of fun and unity which we at all times wish to be the primary objective of the weekend itself.
We had over 200 applications for 2018 and with several retirees we expect to see more new faces than ever before for 2019.
Good luck to all those applying, and whether you play or not, we can't wait to see you in Cardiff next July.
The weekend begins with a Pro Allstars game on the Friday night (July 26th, 2019) and doors open at 11am Saturday and Sunday with games beginning at midday.
