#Cardiff17 launches three weeks today!
The tenth anniversary UK Charity Allstars event begins on Friday 28th July at 7:30; almost precisely three weeks from now.
This first of its kind event will see two teams of current and former Ice Hockey heroes from Cardiff and the rest of the UK suit up for two wonderful Charities. Ian Cooper, Devils all-time leading British points scorer, will Captain the team representing the Ice Hockey players' benevolent fund, while mercurial Former Devil Max Birbraer will lead a team for SCIPS - the Charity that supports the neonatal unit of the University Hospital Wales.
Steve Moria and Jake Morissette - the 'Two Mo's' - are signed up, along with around 30 other players from several eras of British Hockey.
Starting tomorrow we will be making some more exciting announcements for the two teams, as we build to the beginning of a landmark event for the Allstars.
Several current members of the Cardiff Devils 17/18 roster will ice on 28th, along with fan favourites from lots of other UK Cities.
On Monday we will reveal something very special: The jerseys for both these two teams. These are 'cut and sew' jerseys, supplied by Bayside Sports of Cardiff, and are totally unique. The game worn jerseys will go under the auction hammer following the game (and also online pre-event so you can bid if you can't make it to Cardiff) and we believe they will be some of the most collectible jerseys seen in recent years.
On the night we will play two periods of 'rolling clock' (20 minutes with no stoppages), and then there will be some skill competitions to finish the event. In between there will be an officially sanctioned Guinness World Record attempt made on the ice, but full details of that will be secret until the night itself...
There will also be a 50/50 draw so you could win a cash prize while supporting the Charities!
We are creating a 'Charity village' in the bar of Ice Arena Wales where you will be able to learn about our 8 team charities, donate and support them, and our great friends from Cross Check clothing will be there too with a great range of always awesome hockey clothing.
This is set to be a great night, for superb causes, and a bargain at just £10 for Adults and £5 for children and concessions.
