Moore Devils take to the ice for Pro Allstars

With the Pro Allstars game just days away (Friday 28th July, 7.30pm face-off), 4 Cardiff Devils players are taking to the ice to raise money for the Ice Hockey Players Benevolent Fund (IHPBF) and the Special Care Infant Parent Support group (SCIPS).

The Allstars committee are excited to reveal that Devils summer signing Craig Moore will ice in his first game at Ice Arena Wales since making his switch from the Dundee Stars. The 22 year old utility player earned his move to the Devils on the back of 2 impressive seasons in Dundee which followed his 4 seasons in North America.

Joining Moore will be ‘Mr Consistent’ Mark Richardson who is entering his 11 year with the Devils that will feature a well-deserved Testimonial. Devils fans will remember that Mark’s testimonial was due to be held last season, only for him to hand over his planned night to former teammate Scott Matzka following his diagnosis with ALS. Following his key role in the Devils treble-winning season, Richardson continued his success in GB’s promotion winning World Championship campaign.

Josh Batch was one of the first players to commit to the Pro Allstars game. Since joining the Devils in 2011 following 2 years in North America, Josh has made Cardiff his home and the 2017-18 season will be his 7th with the Club. With the ability to play as a Defenceman or Forward, 6’4” Batch has become a key player during the Devils recent successes. He has earned equal plaudits for his no-nonsense defensive zone play, his adept performances against heavyweight enforcers with the occasional highlight-reel goal thrown in for good measure.

Popular forward ‘Doctor’ Luke Piggott completes todays 4 announcements. Originating from Calgary, Canada, Luke played junior hockey in Basingstoke before moving to Cardiff to play at ENL level. His performances at that level and his drive to improve his game saw him earn a call up to the senior Devils team in 2011 where he has spent the last 6 seasons delivering energetic performances week in- week out.

Many thanks to these players for their support of this game.
