Two Championship winning Cardiff Devils Captains have added their support to the Pro Allstars game, which will open the UK Charity Allstars weekend on Friday 28th July (7:30pm face off).
Welcome aboard to the two Mo’s.
Mo number 1 is Devils all-time leading goal, assist and point scorer, Steve Moria. His famous #19 hangs proudly from the rafters of Ice Arena Wales in recognition of the 10 years’ service to the Devils during an incredible 27 year professional career, littered with many Championships and personal accolades. Moria captained the Devils during the historic league and cup winning Premier League debut season in 1989-90, which culminated in the 'that' live on BBC Grandstand penalty shootout win against the Murrayfield Racers which put the Devils firmly on the map of British ice hockey.
Mo number 2 is Jake Morissette, who of course Captained the Devils during the recent treble winning season, ending a 20 year wait for the prestigious league Championship. Mo has been Captain or Alternate during the last 3 seasons with the Devils, coinciding with a total of 5 Championship wins. Mo has endeared himself to Devils fans, coaches and team-mates alike through his relentless work-rate, selfless attitude and willingness to lead from the front with blocked-shots, highlight-reel goals and ice-cool penalty shots.
Allstars Chairman Paul Sullivan said,
'We are very excited and grateful to have two guys playing in the Pro Allstars game who have represented Cardiff and UK ice hockey as well these two have. Between them, the two Mo’s have been involved in all of the most successful Cardiff Devils periods, so to have them both on the ice at the same time is remarkable.
We will be announcing lots more exciting names over the coming weeks to entice ice hockey fans from a number of eras to support this great event for two very worthy charities.'
Thank you to both Mo’s for their support of this exciting event.
Tickets will be available online next week via the Cardiff Devils online ticketing platform. Adults are £10, under 16’s £5 each.
If you are a current or former pro player and would like to take part, please email the Match Director Neil Francis on nf@cardiffdevils.com
