GB stars re-unite for the Pro Allstars
With less than 2 weeks to go to the opening night of the #Cardiff17 UK Charity Allstars weekend, we are excited to reveal 2 more players to be added to the Pro Allstars game on Friday 28th July at 7.30pm.
First up is Sheffield Steelers and GB star forward Robert Dowd. Robert recently played a key role in the promotion winning GB side in the recent World Championship in Belfast, finishing as GB’s joint top scorer with 8 points from 5 games. On the domestic front, Dowd has enjoyed huge success winning trophies in each of his last 6 EIHL season with Belfast and Sheffield, interrupted only by a year in the highly-regarded Swedish Allsvenskan where he returned a very respectable 24 points from 42 games.
Joining Dowd is his former Sheffield and GB team mate and Cardiff Devils stalwart Phil Hill. Cardiff-born Hill made his Devils debut at the age of 17 and went on to play in over 500 games over 12 seasons for the Club. He was a member of the 2006 Challenge Cup winning team, the 2010-11 Guinness World Record breaking team before finally capturing well-deserved EIHL play-off and league Championship success with the Sheffield Steelers. Phil also represented GB in 7 international tournaments. He has spent the last 2 years with Telford and Swindon in the EPL and will continue with the Wildcats in the NIHL for the forthcoming season.
