The UK Charity Allstars head back to Cardiff for 2019
The UK Charity Allstars are delighted to announce we will be hosting the 2019 Allstars tournament in Ice Arena Wales, Cardiff for the third time.
The majority of our events have taken place in Sheffield but the organisers have always wanted the event to have no permanent home. Talks have taken place with other venues, and for 2020 a new venue could be on the cards however we are pleased to have our third Allstars tourney at IAW in July, 2019.
The events will run from Friday 26th - Sunday 28th July, 2019.
The weekend will be a three-day event, similar to the 2017 Allstars, starting on the Friday with a 'Pro Allstars game' where current and former professional hockey heroes face off to entertain the fans and raise valuable funds. Special jerseys will again be produced for this game, and auctioned off after the game.
Almost all the Captains for 2019 have already been recruited and plans are well underway to make this the biggest, smoothest and most fun Allstars tournament yet.
Allstars Chairman Paul Sullivan said:
'We had a hugely successful weekend in Sheffield raising over £117,000 which is phenomenal and far outstrips any other Sheffield weekend. We are excited to stage in Cardiff again. We always get a great welcome in Ice Sheffield but it's time to head back to Wales for us. We receive fantastic support from the management and staff of Ice Arena Wales and we know our Allstars have a great time in the Cardiff Nightlife, as they do each year!
We are working with corporate partners to look to improve the dressing room accommodations for our teams, which we hope to have more news on soon, and our branding, merchandise and jersey art will be announced earlier than ever before for this next campaign.
I have to thank the rest of the organisers for their energy and enthusiasm to get right back at it so soon after the Sheffield18 campaign, and we are looking forward to announcing a few surprises and improvements in the coming weeks and months.'
