The UK Charity Allstars are delighted to announce that Mind, the UK mental health support Charity that helps over half a million people, are to become the 7th permanent Allstars team from 2018 onwards.
Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Having 135 'local minds' offices across the UK and with an incredible 60 years' experience, this was the first and unanimous choice by the organising committee when the subject of adding a mental health Charity to our roster was first raised.
Allstars Chairman Paul Sullivan said,
'Having a team that supported and campaigned for those with mental health issues has been raised a few times in the past 12 months. Mental health is something far too many people don't get to take for granted and we are delighted to support such an established and respected organisation as Mind.
This topic has touched nearly every one of us at some time or another, and it's good to see that people - and particularly men where so much stigma has previously been attached - are opening up and really talking about mental health issues. We feel this will be a team that many of our Allstars will want to support and we are delighted to have them on board for 2018.'
This now means that only one team will 'rotate' to be local to the host City, and we will be announcing the local Charity for 2018 at 2pm when we open registration, and announce the host City.
